OAK HILLS STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

Come see what the talented photography students at Oak Hills High school have been doing this semester. This show will highlight the best work of  Photo II (along with a few images from Photo I), developed and printed over the past ten weeks.

If you would like to meet the artists, please join us at Aroma’s on Friday,  December 3 at 7pm for the opening of the show.  Most of the work is on sale for $20. We look forward to seeing you there!  The show will be on display until the start of Christmas Break.

Oak Hills Art Students…On the Town

Oak Hills High School Art students participated in a variety of exhibition this weekend.  Below is an update of how they did:

ART ACADEMY OF CINCINNATI HIGH SCHOOL ART CARD EXHIBITION

Out of 720 entries recieved from across the nation, Oak Hills students were selected for both Best of Show and Honorable Mention Honors.  Congratulations to Amanda Gratsch who recieved Best of Show and Chrisanne Newmann who recieved an Honorable Mention.  Stop down at the Art Academy of Cincinnati a view the exhibit!

XAVIER UNIVERSITY EXHIBITION

At the Xavier University Juried High School Exhibition, Scott Howard was awarded an Honorable Mention.

SECRET ARTWORKS

Secret Artworks, an annual fundraising event held by Artworks to fund it’s summer artist apprentice programs, was also held this past weekend.  Not only was Oak Hills represented with student submissions by senior Catherine Moster, but Oak Hills alumni also donated their time to volunteer at the event.  Recent graduates Emily McNamara, Max Bischoff, and Emily Gibbemeyer volunteer to monitor the artwork displayed and help patrons with their Secret Artworks purchases.

AAC Art Card Exhibition for High School Junior and Seniors

The Art Academy of Cincinnati is sponsoring a High School Art Card Exhibition that opens on November 19 and continues through December 17, 2010. Three entries will be chosen to receive a $100 art supply gift certificate.  Come see the work of the Studio Art AP 2D Design and Drawing students!

Xavier University Bi-Annual High School Juried Exhibition

Xavier University hosted their Juried High School Exhibition for Junior and Senior Artists earlier this fall.  The following Oak Hills High School art students had their work selected for the exhibition:

Sara Thomas, Scott Howard, Mark Funk, and Samantha Brockman

Please join the art students at the opening reception on Friday, November 19th from 6:00-8:00pm.  The gallery is located in the Art Building behind the Cintas Center.

Giving Back to OHHS

Current OHHS Studio Art AP Drawing and 2D Design students, as well as alumni, donated artworks for auction at this year’s Highlander Hop.  The event, held on September 25th, was hosted by the Athletic Boosters to raise funds for programs and projects.  This year’s students’ works raised over $200 for the Athletic Boosters.
