#bethechange🕊💝 Cyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic printing processes in the history of photography. The distinctive feature of the print is its shade of cyan blue, which results from its exposure to ultraviolet light. When the blueprint emerged, cyanotypes were traditionally used for reproducing the technical drawings of architects and engineers until the arrival of photocopy machines. Cyanotypes were first introduced by the astronomer, scientist, and botanist John Herschel in 1842. Although Herschel had discovered the process, it was the botanist and photographer Anna Atkins who first used the cyanotype to create a photographic album of algae specimens in 1843. A few of the amazing charcoal portraits by Drawing and Printmaking students in Studio 213. #artskills🎨 Congratulations to my amazing padawan, Anna Ackman, whose artwork was featured on International Day of the Girl to kick off Day of the Girl2022's recognition and empowerment of young artists' voices from around the world! @dayofthegirl2022 #internationaldayofthegirl That’s a wrap on another mural at OHHS! 🐝 #artteacherlife🎨❤️🖤 Some of Mr. Groh’s darkroom photography students showing off their altered portrait prints. #darkroomphotography #highlanderstrong Oak Hills grad and former AP photo student, Hannah Knight, came to speak to Mr. Groh’s darkroom photo class today as well as art club. Hannah is graduating with a BFA from Xavier University and came to share her experiences. The Oak Hills Art Department is very proud of her and her accomplishments. #highlanderstrong Senior Stephanie Herold presented her art teacher, Mrs. Dignan-Cummins, with the everyday hero project she created for her in Mr. Groh’s darkroom photography class. @ohhsseniors22 #highlanderstrong Freshman Emily Day turned her stitchery project into a piggy pillow! 🐷 @ohhsclassof2025 #highlanderstrong
