OHHS Art and Design Observes International Day of Peace

The International Day of Peace (“Peace Day”) is observed around the world each year on September 21st. Established in 1981 by a unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.

OHHS Art and Design is observing the International Day of Peace this year with a display of the student works recently displayed in the SOS Art Exhibition at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. SOS Art Cincinnati sponsors a yearly SOS Exhibition and Event of creative expressions for peace and justice. Students exhibited their works alongside many established artists from around the globe, all of whom addressed issues related to peace and justice. This year, OHHS Art and Design students from: Groh’s Studio Art AP Photography classes; Schorsch’s Drawing and Printmaking, Painting and Mixed Media, and Studio Art AP classes; Kopf’s Painting and Mixed Media and Digital Art Foundations, Gibson’s Photoshop and Illustrator, and Ambs’ Art Foundations classes, participated in the event in June at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

Works from the SOS Art Exhibition will be on display in the front lobby of OHHS through the month of September in honor of Peace Day.
