Celebrating Art: Spring 2020 High Merit Students Announced

Congratulations to the 6 OHHS Art and Design students whose art was selected as a High Merit piece for the Spring 2020 Celebrating Art competition and publication! Having a High Merit award means the art was an exceptional piece. Out of thousands of entries received for the Spring 2020 contest, it stood out as being one of the top 5% submitted. Students who have art selected as High Merit work will receive special recognition in the book as it is displayed as a High Merit piece.

2020 Congressional Art Competition Finalists Announced: VOTE NOW!

The OHHS Art and Design team is excited to announce that we have 6 District Finalists for the Congressional Art Competition this year!
 
Vote for their works now, here on Congressman Chabot’s Website! Voting will take place from now until Wednesday, June 3rd at 3:00pm. https://chabot.house.gov/forms/form/?ID=3085

Top Hamilton County Runner-Up: Artwork will hang in Congressman Chabot’s Cincinnati office for one year.

2020 Congressional Art Award Competitors

“An Artistic Discovery,” a nationwide high school visual art competition sponsored by the Congressional Institute, aims to showcase the artistic talents of high school students. This annual competition is open to students in grades 9-12 who are residents of Ohio’s First Congressional District. This year’s winner will be chosen through the following process: a panel will select the top twenty pieces of artwork submitted to Steve Chabot’s office, which will then be posted on his website to be voted on by the general public. The winning artwork will be displayed in the Capitol in Washington, D.C. with other winners from across the country.  The second place artwork will be displayed in Steve Chabot’s D.C. office, and additional runners-up will be displayed in his Cincinnati and Warren County district offices.
